After the bread making we needed some quality goats cheese. We went to a tasting and then we saw the goats, the donkey and the farm dog.

On Thursday we visited a bakery and made our own bread. We needed something nice to go with our bread so we headed off to find some cheese.

After all the History we ne factory.eded some more food. It was time to do some baking at a local biscuit factory. We then went to a local restaurant for a well deserved drink.

Mulberry Harbour

We visited the beach to see the Mulberry Harbour. The Mulberry Harbour was used to help the Allies land on Normandy beaches.

Day 2 - Bayeux Tapestry, Pegasus Bridge, D Day

Day 2

Day 2 started with a visit to the town of Bayeux. We went to the tapestry which told us about the Battle of Hastings.

The Normans were pretty cool as they managed to invade England which is kind of tough.

George Guven thought the tapestry was very cool. "It was really long, its like an early comic book all about the battle.

George also enjoyed the 360 cinema which was all about the D- Day landings. "I would give today an 8/10 which is a very good score.

Henry Bennett liked Pegasus Bridge because it had loads of History. "I could imagine it just as it was."

I enjoyed the cemetury becuase it gave me a sense of the suffering. I could see that the families were troubled as well as the soldiers.

Pegasus Bridge

Today we visited Pegasus Bridge, I thought it was pretty cool. It was a bridge in France that the Brittish captured from the Germans the day before the start of the massive D- Day landings on the 6th June 1944.

The glider pilots were very skilled who landed near the bridge and captured it within ten minutes.

Tuesday - The Market!

Today we went to a traditional French market. Our challenge was to buy our lunch. However, we had to speak French. The quality of our lunch depended on our langauage skills.

My group purchased cheese, bread, strawberries, ..... lots of food. It was lots of fun and now I know I wouldn't starve in France.

We then had to make our lunch in a local park. Here is some of the food we purchased by talking French.

Year 8 Have Arrived In Normandy

Année 8 ont arrivés sains et saufs en Normandie après vraiment plaisir visites à la ferme de cidre pour les entraîneurs A et C et la chocolaterie pour entraîneur B.

Year 8 have arrived safely in Normandy after really fun visits to the Cider Farm for coaches A and C and the Chocolate Factory for coach B.

Coach B are heading to the market today. We shall post some reports on how they get on buying their lunch.
